We definitely have to give University of Michigan student Matt Cloutier’s attempt at getting a summer job as BuzzFeed’s video intern an A for effort.
While his peers might be busy sending out paper resumes to multiple companies, Cloutier has set his sights on working with the internet company and decided to apply by parodying Simple Minds’ “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”.
In the four-minute video, 19-year-old Cloutier sings lines including “Buzzfeed, will you hire me?” and “I’ll work hard, you don’t even know / The crazy ideas this cranium holds”.
Cloutier also proved he had a fun-side in the video application – evident through his wacky dancing, the juggling of balls and the playing of an euphonium, as well as pouring coffee on his head (“I’ll make you coffee, so much coffee”).
He also demonstrated a wicked understanding for the business end of things: “I want to make videos for your company, to make you money… So much money!”
While BuzzFeed has run a story about Cloutier’s application, he has yet to hear back from the company.
Good luck Matt, we sure won’t be forgetting about you anytime soon!
