There has been a lot of chatter about salary disparity between men and women, and the conversation isn’t dying down any time soon if this advertisement is anything to go by.
In the lead up to International Women’s Day tomorrow, Annelie Nordström, chairwoman of Kommunal, Sweden’s biggest union, underwent a makeover in protest of unequal salaries between men and women.
During the 47 second clip, Nordström is seen being transformed into a man, as a voiceover is heard saying: “A woman in Sweden earns a quarter million Euros less than a man over the course of her working life. Everyday she works for free after four o’clock, while he gets paid until five.”
The video ends with a website BeAMan.se, where women can virtually transform themselves into men to raise awareness on the issue.
