Michael Jenkins, formerly the CEO of Roffey Park in the UK, has been appointed chief executive officer of Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI), a subsidiary of Temasek Management Services (TMS).
In this role, he will be responsible for implementing the company’s vision to become the preeminent centre of excellence for leadership and human capital development.
Sunny Verghese, chairman of HCLI, commented: “Michael has extensive experience and a strong track record managing leadership development organisations across multiple markets, and this, combined with his personal integrity, drive and leadership style make him very suitable to lead HCLI.”
Jenkins has previously tenured with Roffey Park, Center for Creative Leadership (as CEO of CCL Asia Pacific), and INSEAD (where he was responsible for strengthening the executive education business, and expanding its footprint into China, Japan, India and Malaysia).
He has been credited with contributing significantly to research in leadership over the years. Some of the topics he is most passionate about include resilience, compassionate leadership and the human dimension of productivity.
On his appointment, Jenkins commented: “I am very much looking forward to joining the Human Capital Leadership Institute and to helping to further the mission of the organisation to develop global leaders in and from Asia,” citing the institute’s diverse portfolio such as Singapore Business Leaders’ Programme, Directors-in-Dialogue Series, and more.
Jenkins moves to Singapore having broad international experience – he was born in Malaysia, grew up in Uganda, studied in China and Japan, and has previously worked for nine years in Singapore.
