Twitter has announced it will be adding more than 100 jobs over the next few years across the Asia Pacific region.
At the opening of its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, the company said it is increasing its headcount to meet the growing demand from its users, partners and advertisers.
The jobs will come in the form of technical staff, including data analytics professionals, product specialists, engineering and technology support, in order to create a regional hub for live, digital innovations in Singapore.
The company’s Singapore-based team has grown to 80 staff members since they opened a serviced office in the fall of 2013.
As a result, the team has now moved to a new office space in Singapore, making it the new Asia Pacific headquarter. It is home to a wide range of functions, including HR, marketing, sales, finance, user services, legal, policy, and trust & safety.
“The Asia Pacific region is already one of the largest and fastest growing regions for Twitter today, and there still is enormous potential to show people, partners and advertisers the value of our platform, from Japan to India to Australia,” said Shailesh Rao, VP of Asia Pacific, Americas and Emerging Markets.
He added that the company is capitalising on this growth by making strategic investments across the region – from opening new offices and aggressively hiring staff, to acquiring companies and building local product experiences.
