Tesco Stores Malaysia has revealed that, in order to respond to customers’ ever-changing needs, management structures in its larger stores will be simplified.
Responding to Human Resources’ requests for comment, a Tesco Stores Malaysia spokesperson said: “We have last week briefed our management teams on changes we are making to our store management structures. In order to respond to our customers ever-changing needs, we are simplifying structures in our larger stores.”
The simplifying of structures will involve replacing the existing store management structures with a simpler and more agile one, the spokesperson added.
“The structures have been designed to make sure we have clearer lines of responsibility in crucial areas that influence customer satisfaction like service, quality and availability – bringing our colleagues closer to customers.
“The stronger management structure within our stores will enable the store teams to lead in the right way and in the right areas.
“Our aim is to keep the number of colleagues leaving the business to a minimum. We are committed to doing what we can to ensure as many affected colleagues are offered new roles within the business,” the spokesperson added.
As Tesco Stores Malaysia is “in the process of job matching our colleagues into new roles”, the spokesperson was unable to provide Human Resources with the number of employees affected by this move.
