This morning, Human Resources hosted the inaugural Recruitment Interactive 2013, an event structured around an intimate, engaging and interactive format.
The platform allowed HR practitioners, talent acquisition heads and recruitment experts to share best practices and experiences around five recruitment issues – social media, candidate sourcing, recruitment outsourcing, selection excellence, and technology and innovation.
Below is a quick peek at some of the discussions and lines of questioning that took place this morning at the Four Seasons Singapore.
“Having recruited fresh, young graduates, most new hires wish to be involved in deciding organisational policies and corporate strategies. How much of their input should company HR professionals actually consider? It actually might be a wastage of great talent.”
“How do we get line managers to become more involved in sourcing new professionals themselves, since they know best about what they require, especially in industries like investment banking?”
“We always know what we require and what we need, but we tend to forget what resources we already have. Focus on that.”
“When hiring, it is crucial to combine technologically enhanced recruitment methods with face-to-face interaction. It enriches the hiring process.”
