With multiple long weekends expected in 2014, you might want to prepare yourself for lower bouts of productivity from your staff this year, especially right after they come back from a holiday.
According to a recent survey conducted by Travelex, 25% of employees call in sick to work on their first day back from holiday.
Out of the 2,000 British workers polled, nearly half also admitted to being distracted and revealed they forgot to do important work tasks upon their return to the office.
“Even when back at work, a quarter of us daydream of sea and sand during our lunch hours,” the report stated.

Three out of 10 employees also indicated they get annoyed by fellow colleagues who are still thinking about their holidays.
It doesn’t take long, however, for workers to get into holiday mode after stepping out of their offices.
According to the survey, almost 60% of those polled felt relaxed from the minute they put their feet up in the hotel.
