While a resounding 93% agree that goal-setting is important to on-the-job performance, what’s more interesting in Accountemps’ latest survey is the data around how often bosses and their employees discuss progress to target.
Surveying more than 1,000 workers in the US, the research found that more than half (51%) discuss goal progress with their manager at least monthly, while 11% never even broach the topic.
There are data differences across genders – more men (60%) than women (40%) discuss performance goals with their manager at least monthly. Additionally, 17% of women never bring up the subject, compared to just 5% of their male counterparts.
Overall, monthly progress catchups are most common among all demographics (26%), while weekly are also similarly popular at 25%.
