Early-bird tickets are still available.

There are more HR professionals carrying the title of “Head of HR” than anywhere else in the world.

This is according to the 2014 HR Malaysia Survey by Elliott Scott, which focuses on the current salaries and bonuses of professionals – including human resources professionals – in Malaysia, as well as recent trends.

Among its findings, the report, part of the wider 2014 Global Salary Survey, found 28% of respondents held the title of Head of HR, compared to 8% of respondents globally. The country also scored highly in having the highest number of senior managers (21%), beating the global average of 10%.

When it came to pay levels, the report found 89% of Malaysians believed they were just “at market or below market” rate compared with 90% globally, and 11% of them stated they were pleased with this compensation package. This was 1% higher than the average number found worldwide.

In terms of pay rises received, 24% of Malaysians were either pleased or very pleased with their pay rises, and 29% felt the same way about their bonus.

The country’s retention rates were also commended in the report. While 31% of respondents globally claimed to have been with their company for four years or more, Malaysia scored 32%.

Close to seven out of 10 (68%) of Malaysian respondents were also identified as being in the company for three years or less.
