HR Practitioner Appointments

Bryony McCormack takes up role as executive director, HR at Morgan Stanley
In a promotion from vice president, Asia HR COO based in Hong Kong at financial services provider Morgan Stanley, Bryony McCormack is now executive director, human resources, relocating to London for her new role. Prior to joining the firm in August 2013, she was change management and communications manager at law firm Allens, working in Melbourne.

Al Law takes up new role at ISS Group 
Previously operations officer (safety and service quality) at The Kowloon Motor Bus Company, Al Low has transitioned to senior officer, learning and development at facilities services major, ISS A/S. Based in Hong Kong, he has previously worked as administrative officer with the Hong Kong Police Force, and has received the First Aid Certificate from Hong Kong St. John Ambulance.

Bonnie Lau adds talent management experience to her plate
Hong Kong’s leading transport operator MTR Corporation has promoted Bonnie Lau to talent management manager, based in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong. This is a move up from her previous role as people development manager which she took on when she joined in April 2013. At the time, she had moved over from Ngong Ping 360, where she was head of human resources and corporate services.

Ahmad H Butt exits BBVA to join Li & Fung in talent acquisition role
Hong Kong-based Ahmad H Butt has taken up the role of head of talent acquisition at supply chain specialist Li & Fung, where he is part of the HR centre of excellence – talent acquisition specifically to spearhead corporate and executive recruitment across all regions. He leaves his past role as vice president – talent and culture, Asia Pacific at BBVA, where he was responsible for driving the strategic and tactical HR agenda for businesses such as corporate and transaction banking, M&A, and more.

Vivian Chiang to work in HR at Stamford International University
Undergraduate and graduate education provider Stamford International University has appointed Vivian Chiang assistant president, human resources. In the process, she relocates to Bangkok from Singapore and Japan region, where she was HR senior manager, AMEA at Laureate International Universities. She has previously undertaken a number of roles in Japan, such as HR director at Gakko Houjin Eichi Gakuin, St. Thomas University, and regional consultant at HRnetOne.

Kean Mun Loke is brought in to head HR at Top Glove
The world’s largest glove manufacturer Top Glove has appointed a head of human resources in Kean Mun Loke, to overcome the full spectrum of HR for the group. Based in Selangor, Malaysia, he moves over from Tan Chong Group, where he was lead for centre of excellence, which was organised by solutions teams comprising specialists who work across various HR practice areas.

Okada Manila scouts for HR officer in Jayson Mendoza
Having been based in the Philippines through his career, Jayson Mendoza has been recruited by the flagship development of Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment, as HR officer – talent acquisition. This replaces his past assignment, where he was managing consultant at Drake International.

Michael Goh moves up the ranks at Jurong Port
Previously chief human resources officer at the leading multipurpose port operator, Michael Goh has been promoted to chief corporate services officer in Singapore. He now manages the corporate services division, which comprises critical shared services including HR, legal, procurement, and in addition, drives the transformation of safety and security services in the port. His prior work experience spans senior HR roles at SingTel, Singapore Exchange, and Microsoft Operations.

Louis Y M Ng moves to senior HR role within Fidelity International 
Previously the campus recruiter, investment management, Asia based in Hong Kong, Louis Y M Ng is now early careers talent acquisition manager, Asia at the investment solutions provider. In this role, his priority is to partner with management and key stakeholders to drive talent acquisition strategies for early careers (school leavers, interns, graduates, and experienced associates and analysts) across the investment management and business team in Asia Pacific. Before joining Fidelity International in 2016, he has experience working with organisations such as S&P Global, PwC, and more.

Hospitality major AccorHotels sees home-grown chief talent and culture officer
Formerly the senior vice president – learning and talent development, Christine Rumble has been promoted at AccorHotels to the role of chief talent and culture officer, Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. She has a respected career in the hotels sector, having worked with AccorHotels since August 2006 in a number of roles and geographies, as well as racking up experience at Club Med and Novotel.

Christopher Lim (PMP) takes up new role at DHL Supply Chain in Singapore
Having been recently appointed director, global HR BPO – business support and strategic projects, at DHL Supply Chain, Christopher Lim is stationed in the Singapore office. He moves over from Johnson Controls where he was manager, corporate business systems (Asia).

Larsen & Toubro strengthens corporate L&D team with Dr Ashis Sen’s appointment
Dr Ashis Sen has been appointed head of corporate learning and development at the infrastructure and construction conglomerate, based in Mumbai. He comes with a pool of experience, having been internal coach and head of capability building for Hindustan Petroleum.

Mondelēz International secures the support of Nate Ong as HR business lead
Food production leader Mondelēz International has promoted Selangor-based Nate Ong from regional organisation pillar lead, Asia Pacific (integrated lean Six Sigma), to HR business lead – integrated supply chain, Malaysia & Philippines. He has been with the firm since August 2015, prior to which he has worked with organisations such British American Tobacco (Malaysia), Kerry Group, and more.

 

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Hudson announces career advancement for Anki Lau in Hong Kong
Global talent solutions and recruitment provider Hudson sees the appointment of Anki Lau as managing consultant – sales and marketing in Hong Kong. In a promotion from senior consultant, Lau specialises in mid to senior level sales and marketing recruitment in the areas of product marketing, e-commerce, public relations, retail marketing, sales, and more. She has been with Hudson since January 2014, priot to which she was senior programme officer at visual art organisation 1a space.

Paul Meijer takes up people advisory services responsibility at EY
Joining the advisory and assurance expert EY as director of people advisory services in Melbourne, Paul Meijer moves over from Korn Ferry Hay Group. In this past role, where he had been with the erstwhile Hay Group since April 2002, joining as a consultant in the Netherlands.

Suparna Banik appointed as regional head of talent management
Currently the regional head of talent management at insurance provider AXA Asia, Suparna Banik was previously HR director for Asia at Wolverine World Wide. In her new role, she continues to be based in Hong Kong. Prior to this, she has experience with Noble Group, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, and more.

Willis Towers Watson Insurance Group hires Kevin Angelini to drive strategy consulting
The global advisory, broking and solutions company has appointed Kevin Angelini as head of strategy in its insurance consulting and software business in Asia Pacific. This is part of the firm’s strategy to grow its insurance consulting business from a traditional focus on risk consulting and M&A due diligence support, to offering wider strategy consulting services. Based in Hong Kong, Angelini reports to Richard Collis, managing director for the insurance consulting and software business in Asia Pacific.

Collis said: “Having Kevin on board demonstrates Willis Towers Watson’s commitment to serving clients with additional strategy consulting services. His experience will bring real added value to the company and to our clients as we look to tap these new opportunities.”

Before joining Willis Towers Watson, Angelini was head of strategy and business development at Generali Asia where he was a key member in building its Asia regional footprint by creating the strategy and M&A division from scratch and leading new market-entry initiatives.

Maneesh Sah strengthens Aon’s external communications team in APAC
Having joined Aon Hewitt, the professional services specialist, as AMEA head of marketing in January 2015, Maneesh Sah has progressed to the role of executive director, external communications, Asia Pacific for Aon. In this new role, his priority is: “To maximise the impact of our firm’s milestone moments to drive awareness, understanding and reputation of Aon in this region,” he told Human Resources.

Based in Singapore, Sah has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, having pursued assignments with Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council, Towers Watson, and more.

CredForce appoints Savita Vijayan as country leader – talent solutions
Savita Vijayan has been recruited by the credentialing and capability validation solutions provider, CredForce, as country leader for talent solutions. Based in Gurgaon, her most recent assignment was with People Matters as general manager – special initiatives.
