HR Practitioner Appointments

Subeer Bakshi takes up new role at Bajaj Finserv 
Having joined financial services firm Bajaj Finserv as head of HR excellence in July 2017, Subeer Bakshi has been promoted to head of talent acquisition, employee engagement, and business partner network. In this role, he is managing the three teams listed in his title, and engaging with potential talent, vendor partners and professionals from the industry and HR domain. He is previously tenured with Willis Towers Watson as director of the rewards, talent and communication practice.

Lim Zhi Rong joins Twitter
After two years with Unilever (from 2016 to 2018), global HR director Lim Zhi Rong is exiting the company to pursue new adventures. He will be joining Twitter as their head of human resources, Asia Pacific and will report to the global vice president of HR at Twitter, San Francisco. One of his top priorities would be to ensure he continues to advance Twitter’s institutional purpose internally with our people and externally with our users : “To give everyone in the world the power to create and share ideas, without barriers”. Benjamin Roberts is now VP – talent management APAC at Essence
Effective April 2018, Benjamin Roberts has joined media agency Essence as VP of talent management APAC, where his priority is to continue Essence’s strong growth in the region whilst building, developing and attracting new talent, as told to Human Resources.

Based in Singapore since 2014, he moves over from Publicis Communications, where he was global talent acquisition and mobility leader, prior to which he was chief talent officer worldwide at Saatchi & Saatchi. Roberts is an accomplished talent management professional with over 16 years experience in business partnership, recruitment strategy, and more.

Gavin Ong moves from Aspire to Grab
After spending more than two years with recruitment agencies, Gavin Ong has accepted a new role at ride-hailing app Grab as talent acquisition business partner, where he continues to be based in Singapore. He has joined the online / tech TA team, where his initial focus will be around engineering and more.

“Having worked in agencies for eight years, I’m really excited to learn the internal process here at Grab and how my experience will benefit the company,” he shares with Human Resources. Ong brings close to 10 years of working experience to the role, and was most recently data and analytics consultant APAC at Aspire.

Balaji Viswanathan is recruiter, digital platform and experience, at Autodesk
An experienced technology recruiter with more than eight years of experience in the staffing industry, Balaji Viswanathan has been appointed as recruiter, digital platform and experience, at 3D design software company, Autodesk. He was previously with FocusCore Singapore as director – technology SEA, and has also had stints with Argyll Scott, Iban Asia, 7 Fifty Two, and more.

Joseph Tan joins Chimelong Group
In April 2018, Joseph Tan joins Chimelong Group as its assistant director of training. Moving from Singapore to China, he was previously an associate learning designer at Kydon Learning Systems Institute. For that role, he was responsible for conducting instructional design review, developing e-learning assets (graphics, videos, and 2D animations), and create learning activity management system (LAMS) sequences for NTU Technology Enabled Learning (TEL) project.

Micron Technology welcomes senior HR business partner
Joining Micron as its senior HR business partner in March 2018, Pinaki Chakraborty is currently based in Singapore. Previously, he was a manager, human resources (APAC). With more than 11 years of industry experience, other companies he has worked with included Webtek Labs and CES. His former roles have seen him in end-to-end recruitment, compensation structuring, working towards increasing employee satisfaction survey score, and more.

J. Walter Thompson Asia Pacific appoints head of talent for Southeast Asia
J . Walter Thompson has recently appointed Rachna Nazir as head of talent, Southeast Asia. Responsible for overseeing the talent functions in Southeast Asia, Nazir reports to Jacco ter Schegget, Southeast Asia CEO of J. Walter Thompson Company. Nazir holds a Masters in HR and Talent Management as well as global credential certifications such as GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM – SCP (Senior Certified Professional in HR).

In her spare time, Nazir has a passion for charity work and volunteers with St John’s Home for the Elderly on a regular basis. Additionally, she is a big fan of traveling the world, both near and far, looking for new experiences with her 9-year-old son. [Read more]

Efficient RE welcomes HR administrator executive
Fatin Atasha Md Zaki has joined Efficient RE as its HR administrator executive. Fatin is an experienced account assistant with a demonstrated history of working in the logistics and supply chain industry. In the current role, she acts as the administrative point of contact between executives and internal/external clients; as well as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners.

Additionally, she ensures the relevant HR database is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation; provides job candidates by screening, interviewing, and testing applicants; notifying existing staff of internal opportunities; maintaining personnel records; obtaining temporary staff from agencies. She is based in Malaysia.


HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Suraj Laungani departs Hudson for staffing firm Space Executive 
Part of the recruitment industry since 2015, Suraj Laungani, formerly managing consultant – accounting and finance at Hudson, has joined Space Executive as senior consultant – finance recruitment specialist. He remains based in Singapore, but has previously worked across geographies, including US.
