For HR directors getting the right mix of people is imperative, use this list by Glassdoor to figure who in your company could be turning it toxic.
1. Lunch Loner
Is there someone who is never invited for lunch? Or somehow an individual is being avoided at all costs, it could be a sign they bring negativity no one wants to be around. Or on the other hand that there is a group of people ostracising individuals so that feel lonely and isolated. Look carefully at why that person is being left out and figure out is it them or co-workers creating a toxic atmosphere.
2. More play than work
Is there someone in your office that is constantly chatting and hanging out at someone’s desk rambling about nothing that resembles work. This can create resentment by other co-workers who are working hard and have to pick up the slack. Figure out who is more talk than action and how you can remedy the situation before the vibe in office turns bad.

3. Low co-worker expectations
An individual is late for work every day, people expect them to miss deadlines so they create a buffer or just avoid assigning important tasks altogether. This could be a sign you have a toxic colleague in your office. Being unreliable just makes everyone frustrated even if it doesn’t affect them directly. Everyone should be held to the same standards to avoid negativity in the office.
4. Help wanted
This person always needs help to get their work done or has an excuse why execution is sub-par. If everyone else is able to complete their own work on time no one should need constant assistance unless in special circumstances. If a worker is sluggish or sloppy and constantly needs others to get their work done they could be creating a toxic workplace.
