Hotel directors in Kuala Lumpur charged with allegedly running a brothel

According to New Straits Times, three directors and staff of a hotel spa management company were hauled to the Sessions Court for allegedly running a brothel with a male and eight female prostitutes at Dang Wangi.

Rapid Promotion, its representatives and the owners of the company’s building were charged with allegedly using the premise as a brothel. The three directors were also charged with allegedly hiring nine China nationals without valid permits. Meanwhile, a cashier at the company, was charged with managing the brothel.

According to the report, they allegedly committed the offences at Mirama Health Club in Dang Wangi at 7.30pm on 6 March. They claimed trial to the offences before judge Datin M. Kunasundary on 21 March 2017.

Two of those charged were released on a RM20,000 bail each; while the third was granted RM8,000 bail; and the fourth, on RM12,000 bail. The case will be up for mention next month on 14 April, according to a report by Malaysian Digest.

In the same court, a 30-year-old man and eight women aged between 21 and 34, believed to have been working as prostitutes, were separately charged with two counts of offering sex and not having a social visit pass.

The nine who are China nationals claimed trial to the offences and were denied bail.

Deputy public prosecutor Liyana Zawani Mohd Radzi prosecuted while all accused were represented by counsel, Marcus Chua.
