Vendors of the Year Awards 2015 adds more HR leaders to its jury



Gathering 50 top regional chief HR and senior business leaders at a three-day business retreat forum, the exclusive HR Innovation Leaders' Summit will happen from September 9-11. Get involved.

Additional names of top HR practitioners in Asia have amplified the roster of HR Vendors of the Year Awards 2015 judges.

Representatives from the Dairy Farm Group, Anantara Vacation Club, CIMB Group, Dunlopillo Holdings and Cargill APAC will participate in the judging process to identify the region’s most competent HR solutions providers.

The HR Vendors of the Year Awards 2015 will take place in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong in November and December.

“Outsourcing vendors entails layers of responsibilities from both the vendors and client organisation, especially those beyond contractual and regulatory obligations, such as building of trust, communication, performance accountability, governance strategy and operational efficiencies,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine.

“Having introduced higher standards, the judges of HR Vendors of the Year Awards want to give the spotlight to deserving vendors that truly stand out in all those areas.”

Here are some of the latest additions to the HR Vendors of the Year Awards 2015 jury.

Karen Liu, area director of HR at Anantara Vacation Club – Greater China, carries over 20 years’ experience in human resource management, mostly serving international luxury hotels groups, such as Marriott International and Hilton Group.

Her expertise is in talent and organisation development, employee engagement and talent management strategies. In her current role, she is responsible for all HR operations in Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Dairy Farm Group’s group talent development director Andrew McGregor is in charge of devising leadership competencies, overhauling performance management systems and shaping a leadership development programme to support cultural realignment.

With over 20 years of experience in HR across international markets, McGregor has expertise in talent management, leadership development, diversity & inclusion and generalist HR leadership to businesses.

He also has exposure in FMCGs (covering corporate and operating businesses, including sales, manufacturing and distribution); globally in talent and leadership development; implementation of diversity & inclusion strategies across cultures; and consulting.

Hamidah Naziadin, group chief people officer at CIMB Group, supervises the Commerce Leadership Institute and holds regional responsibilities for group human resource and group administration and property management.

She is best known for having transformed the firm’s human resource from an administrative function into a strategic business partner, contributing to CIMB’s rapid growth. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Wolverhampton, UK.

With over 23 years of experience in operations, projects, engineering and HR, Roy Shanker, regional vice president of Dunlopillo Holdings (a member of Grupo Pikolin), is a British trained Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers as well as a member of the Association for Business Psychology, UK.

His doctorate specialises in organisational psychology. He is a sought-after presenter at various international conferences in the field of leadership, innovation and organisational performance.

Before joining Dunlopillo Holdings, Shanker has worked with Sime Darby, ICI and British American Tobacco.

Manish Verma, the HR lead for AP for Cargill, supervises country HR directors and directs various areas of HR strategy and service delivery in recruitment, compensation, benefits, data management, IR, employee relations and other areas of HR.

Before joining Cargill, Verma has held HR roles in different companies, such as global talent lead for Nokia, Asia regional HR lead for Accenture Consulting and European region HR lead for BT JV based in London.

His professional experience covers HR strategy, talent management, regional HR and shared services strategy consulting. Verma holds an MBA from India and Masters in Organisational Psychology from University of London.

Some of the other companies represented on the HR Vendors of the Years Awards jury are Hewlett-Packard, Lego, National Australia Bank, Syngenta and many more.

All judges, such as Janet Man, senior director for talent & diversity at McDonald’s, are director or vice president level HR professionals with regional responsibility.

The HR Vendors of the Year Awards is based on a two-tier selection process. Category finalists will be decided by research on the vendor preferences of HR managers in Asia.

The winners will be judged by an esteemed jury of over 60 regional heads of HR from around Asia. Companies represented on the HR Vendors of the Year Awards jury are the most respected Fortune 500 organisations and some of the biggest employers in Asia.
