These are just some of the questions that will be addressed at Talent Management Asia 2016, Asia’s leading HR strategy conference.

Now in its 4th year, Talent Management Asia will explore the most pressing issues organisations and HR practitioners are currently facing today. Here is how one of the topics, designing effective performance appraisals, will be presented at the event.
A panel session featuring heads of HR from Sanofi, Schneider Electric and many more will examine the trends of performance measurement and management control in Asia.
The panel session will cover the challenges faced by HR practitioners in performance management, recommended best practices they can use in measuring performance and the impact of performance measurement on talents and business.
The panel will be followed by a keynote session which will dissect the ideal strategic approach that companies can adopt for their performance management to achieve better business results.
Speakers will explore how HR can manage the expectation of employee and employer on performance measurement, determine the most suitable system in evaluating the performance for each level of employee and keep the strategy aligned with the company culture.
In an excellent keynote presentation, NiQ Lai, CFO and head of talent engagement at Hong Kong Broadband Network, will elucidate the issue of co-ownership in organisations as a motivational tool. He will discuss why it is a proactive choice and how to harmonise all interests involved in the matter.
The other keynote presentation that will follow is about the creation of an effective appraisal system. Delegates can expect various perspectives on issues surrounding evaluation systems, such as the honesty of traditional appraisals and how it can actually affect employees and employers.
In this session, two case studies will be examined: one will illustrate the costs of a broken appraisal system and the other will exemplify a meaningful and effective appraisal system.
