With more than 14 years of experience around driving HR technology and integration projects across New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Singapore and Thailand, our next speaker most recently spent close to decade in Sydney before returning to Malaysia in 2008.
His industry experience leads back to his passion of ensuring that ASEAN companies have a level playing field in the use of strategic HR tech, and today he gathers all of that together – for a presentation on digitalising the HR function to select, develop and retain top talent. We call upon – Sharma KSK Lachu, CEO, Accendo HR Solutions.

Our first speaker – Aju Murjani, managing director, ASEAN at Excelity Global Solutions – has spent the past eight years in the HR domain and has been in the tech industry for the past 16 years evangelising multiple technology enablers.
Our second speaker – Roy Prasad, chief executive officer, i- HR Consulting – holds over 20 years of experience in key management position in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore and is spearheading the biggest cloud HR content for SMEs in Malaysia.

Starting today’s conference is the head of talent acquisition and management at Digi, Bilal Waris. Bilal has spent more than 10 years using technology for improving customer experience and processes, and he’s bringing that commercial experience over to HR, tasked with driving Digi’s digital HR agenda.
Today, he inaugurates the conference with a live demonstration on how Digi has been able to marry its culture and technology together to deliver employee experiences.
Showcasing some of the tools that Digi has developed using both in-house and external support, he points out the organisation witnessed 101 structural changes last year – “an extremely nimble organisation with a high pace change.”
In response, Digi developed a tool whereby, any line manager who is undergoing a restructure, can head to their HR business partner (HRBP) – feed in all details into the tool, for example, what level the changes are expected in, what kind of movements in role, etc. Upon the click of a button, the line manager is presented with a projection on the expected costs of such a restructure.
“As a result, the HRBP’s role has changed from transactional to much more strategic looking,” says Waris. “Even if data is unstructred, we have to take the effort to strucure. Look into insights from the past and take these back o the organisation.”
To inaugurate HR Tech Interactive, Human Resources’ regional editor Aditi Sharma Kalra takes the stage to welcome all delegates, sponsors and speakers.
She says: “In the past few years, we have seen technology complement and even take over various aspects of the HR leader’s job – from the payroll and leave management systems, to online learning programmes, real-time feedback on performance, and even examples of some companies taking up virtual reality for their onboarding programmes.”
