Human Resources is proud to announce the participation of Andrew J. Calvert, regional director and solution architect at AchieveGlobal, as a panellist and sponsor for Employee Effectiveness 2014, the region’s most informative L&D conference.
At the two-day event later this month, Calvert will share his perspectives on training and developing a strong global workforce across borders, alongside senior HR leaders from Facebook and SUTD.
“With the growth of multi-nations and matrix organisations, relationships between colleagues (and managers and direct reports or superiors) is more complex than ever before,” Calvert said. “Keeping it simple, we suggest you focus on two things: group cohesion and individual commitment.
Managers need to be mindful of creating a tangible connection between the work of the team and the organisation’s goals, he said. This helps to define interaction norms and set behaviour expectations, allowing you to decide as a team how to leverage technology.
“For individual commitment, we suggest leaders focus on the needs we share (competence, relatedness and autonomy) and then monitor relationships appropriately.”
Calvert has almost 20 years of customer service, leadership, sales and training experience spanning Hong Kong, Singapore and the U.S. In his role with AchieveGlobal, Calvert has facilitated a variety of local and regionally focused programmes with mid-to-senior level executives covering a wide range of business areas, from the mapping and development of customer experiences, to major change initiatives and deploying organisation-wide innovation programmes.
AchieveGlobal provides exceptional development in interpersonal business skills, giving companies the workforce they need for business results. Located in over 40 countries, the company offers multi-language, learning-based solutions globally, regionally, and locally.
Employee Effectiveness 2014 will be held from 18-19 June at the PARKROYAL on Beach Road in Singapore.
